Reading was the beginning of my journey into the arts, but I had the joy of growing up with brothers who loved drawing cool little designs as much as I did. I thank them for always encouraging my love of the arts.
I attended the Frederick County Career and Technology Center from 2016-2018 for their 2-year Digital Design and Printing Methods Program. In this program students learn about graphic design fundamentals and well as gain experience working with printing equipment and real clients. Some of the works I designed while in the program are in this portfolio.
The Albright Arts Magazine (AM) is a student-run publication that I was a part of during my time at Albright College. Students write the articles, take the photos, and design the layout of the magazine, then send it out to be printed. During my time, I wrote articles, took photographs, and designed for the magazine, as well as served as the publication’s secretary for a semester, and then president/editor-in-chief for two years. The magazines from my time with the organization and some promotional materials I created are within this portfolio.
I took an introduction to computer graphics course during my Freshman year at Albright College because I didn’t want to lose touch of my graphic side and because I needed to take it to be able to take more advanced design courses. In addition, this class also had a focus on Photoshop, so it allowed me to become more proficient in the software. My favorite projects from this class are in this portfolio.
During the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to be the Weinberg Center for the Arts Marketing Intern. While there, I learned a lot about the inner workings of marketing for a nonprofit organization. Two of my favorite design projects I did for them are in this portfolio.
While in my CTC program, I had the opportunity to compete in the SkillsUSA 2017-2018 Advertising Design competition at the Locals, Regional, and State levels. The competitions usually require you create a logo for a company and advertisement with the materials and criteria you are given under a set time limit. My competition pieces are in this portfolio.
I took an entrepreneurship course at my city’s community college in which our final project was to create a business plan for a business of our creation, and any additional components that may be needed. My additional elements were promotional materials, which in this portfolio.
I took a multimedia journalism course during my time at Albright College, which let me understand the creative side of journalism. Some of the pieces I did in the course are in this portfolio.
Over the years, I have done various projects for anyone who has asked. They are in this portfolio.
Civilizations aren’t remembered by their business people, bankers, or lawyers. They’re remembered by their arts.
