Reading was the beginning of my journey into the arts. Within books, I found people I wanted to be, stories I wanted to live, and interests that became what I do today. With reading, came my love of writing.
I got into poetry when I was very small, since I loved it when things rhymed. As I got older, I developed interests in a lot of things: graphic design, photography, public relations, advertising, fashion, journalism, and more! But my love of poetry, and reading and writing, remained. My works of poetry are featured in this portfolio.
My parents used to tell me that my first words were “book” and “read.” That was how much I loved reading in my early days and till this day. However, what comes with reading so much, is the active imagination that I needed an outlet for. Some of the stories that were the result are in this portfolio.
I was a Communications major with a track in Public Relations and Advertising at Albright College. In addition to research projects (and my time as a Weinberg Center for the Arts intern), I learned about campaign writing and other PR and advertising writing pieces I’d need to know how to do in the industry. Some of those pieces are in this portfolio.
The Albright Arts Magazine (AM) is a student-run publication that I was a part of during my time at Albright College. Students write the articles, take the photos, and design the layout of the magazine, then send it out to be printed. During my time, I wrote articles, took photographs, and designed for the magazine, as well as served as the publication’s secretary for a semester, and then president/editor-in-chief for two years. The articles that I wrote for the magazine are in this portfolio.
As a student, research projects were normal. I especially had many such projects since I was a Communications major and an honors student. Some of those projects are in this portfolio.
In addition to journalism, my blog, research, and creative writing, I have done various reports and explorations, for classes, and for myself. Those can be found in this portfolio.
You fail only if you stop writing.
